Help keep our community moving

For many people across Wiveliscombe and the surrounding villages, Wivey Link isn’t just a way of getting from A to B. It’s their way to reach a medical appointment, visit a friend, go shopping, attend day care or simply remain independent.

Your fundraising and donations help make those journeys possible.

We keep our fares affordable for the people who need us most, but fares don’t cover the full cost of running our service. That’s why we rely on the generosity of our community.

Whether you donate £5, organise a fundraising event or leave Wivey Link a gift in your will, you’re helping keep our community connected.

Your support keeps Wivey Link on the road.

Behind every one of these numbers is a person

  • A person getting to hospital.
  • A neighbour getting to the shops.
  • Someone meeting a friend for coffee.
  • A wheelchair user getting out and about.
  • An older person being able to remain living independently in their own home.

Your support helps make those journeys possible.

Want to fundraise for Wivey Link? You don’t need to run a marathon!

There are lots of ways to raise money for Wivey Link, whether you’re an individual, a community group, school, club or local business.

You could:

  • organise a sponsored walk
  • hold a coffee morning or cake sale
  • organise a quiz night
  • run a raffle or auction
  • take part in a challenge
  • organise a community event
  • ask friends and family to sponsor you
  • nominate Wivey Link as your charity for an existing event

Every pound raised helps us continue providing affordable community transport across the Wiveliscombe area.

Why do we need donations?

Wivey Link deliberately keeps its fares affordable. If we charged enough to cover all of our costs, many of the people who rely on us most simply couldn’t afford to use the service.

Our volunteer drivers give more than 7,000 hours of their time every year, but we still need to pay for the things that volunteers can’t provide: vehicles, insurance, fuel, repairs, technology, telephones and our small staff team.

Around half of our income comes from grants and donations.

That means your support isn’t an optional extra.

It helps make the service possible.

Online Donations

You can click on our donate button and make a one off or regular donation online using your bank card.

Donate in the Wivey Link Office

You can visit us during office open hours 10am to 1pm to donate, simply pop in! All donations can be enhanced where applicable by filling in a gift-aid form, available by clicking the download link above or from the office, which allows us to recoup tax and increase the value of donations. Completed forms need to be returned to the office.

Without Wivey Link, many people would not be able to get to medical appointments, day care, social visits, shopping etc. Approximately 50% of our income is from grants and donations.

Wivey Link relies on three essential components to operate:

  • Three part time schedulers to organise the journeys
  • The generosity of our drivers who provide in excess of 7,000+ volunteer hours per year
  • Our vehicles. We currently maintain four vehicles, two of which support wheelchair transportation.

Help us keep our wheels turning

Our vehicles work hard.

Together, they travel more than 65,000 miles every year, taking people to medical appointments, shops, social activities and much more.

Because of this high mileage, our vehicles need replacing every four to five years.

We need to raise at least £20,000 every year towards our vehicle replacement fund.

A donation today could help us keep a vehicle on the road tomorrow — and keep the people who depend on it connected to their community.

Leave a lasting legacy

A gift in your will can help make sure that people in our rural community can continue to access the transport they need for many years to come.

For people who have lived in the Wiveliscombe area for many years, Wivey Link is part of the fabric of their community. A legacy gift can help protect that service for future generations.

Legacy gifts to Wivey Link can be restricted to our vehicle replacement fund, helping us maintain the safe, reliable vehicles on which our passengers depend.

It is a lasting gift to the community you care about.

Help us keep our community connected

Together, our cars travel more than 65,000 miles every year, taking people to medical appointments, shops, social activities and much more.

Wivey Link exists because our community believes that everyone should be able to get where they need to go, regardless of age, mobility or where they live.

Our passengers depend on us.

Our volunteers make us possible.

And our supporters help us keep going.

Whether you give £5, organise a fundraiser, sponsor us as a business or leave a gift in your will to support our vehicle fund, thank you for helping keep West Somerset moving.
